Healthcare Engineering Design
Mental Health Clinic Addition
To better support veterans through expanded behavioral healthcare services, the Providence VA Medical Center developed a new outpatient mental health facility designed to consolidate multiple programs into a modern, patient-focused care environment.
Above Group supported WBRC in designing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the expansion, supporting programs including Homeless Veteran Services, Trauma Recovery, and Neuropsychology. The project focused on creating a welcoming, reliable, and energy-efficient healthcare environment while integrating seamlessly into the existing VA campus infrastructure.
A major project priority was balancing sustainability goals with the operational demands of a healthcare facility. Above Group designed high-efficiency building systems that improved indoor comfort, supported long-term resiliency, and reduced energy consumption in alignment with VA sustainability objectives.
The project also required close coordination with existing campus utilities and ongoing healthcare operations throughout phased construction activities.
As an SDVOSB engineering firm with extensive federal healthcare experience, Above Group delivered building systems designed to support patient care, operational performance, and long-term maintainability.
