Construct Replacement Community-based Outpatient Clinic

Above Group provided full engineering design services for a new 16,370 SF VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) at Joint Base Cape Cod. Aligned with the VA’s One-PACT CBOC prototype, the facility supports primary care, mental health, and specialty services in a patient-centered, standardized layout.

The building integrates a METASYS BAS by Johnson Controls, with all MEP systems operating under direct digital controls to maximize efficiency. The HVAC system features VAV terminals with hot water reheat coils, while a networked lighting control system supports occupancy, daylighting, dimming, and scheduling to reduce energy use.

Systems for telecommunications, security, nurse call, public address, and intrusion detection were designed to meet VA and OHERM standards, with Cat6a cabling supporting future-ready connectivity. The design also reflects Planetree principles, prioritizing comfort, privacy, and sustainability to enhance the veteran care experience.
