Boiler Plant Expansion
Utility Plant Building 44 Expansion
The Miami VA Medical Center has been experiencing the effects of unreliable and aging boiler equipment at its utility plant. To resolve these issues, our team specified equipment upgrades and designed a two-story building addition to house consolidated steam equipment and an upgraded control room into a unified space. A facility condition assessment (FCA) report identified several plant deficiencies resulting in the need for construction documents to replace boilers and steam distribution piping and install monitoring systems where needed. This $20M reinvestment in the campus’ central utility plant will enable the facility to recapitalize its steam infrastructure and ensure reliable operation and maintenance for the next 20-30 years.
