Emergency Control Center

This project constructs a new 5,000 SF fire service living quarters housing a turn-out gear room, decontamination area, additional fire turn-out storage, SCBA/Cascade, and maintenance storage area. Adjoining the new fire service living quarters will be a new 2,900 SF combined service classroom training facility for fire, police, ambulance, and emergency management services. A combined service classroom facility will be attached to the new 1,800 SF ambulance and EMS trailer apparatus bays and storage. The historic Building 16 will be renovated to provide ambulance service living quarters, ambulance EMS administration area/police services, an alternate dispatch center, and equipment storage. Exterior improvements address historical aesthetics and aging brick, replacing the metal roof and windows to match the existing, replacing the former garage door infill with a storefront system, and renovating the roof monitor for potential operability. Renovations to the interior will include leveling the subfloor with subsequent finish flooring and replacing the CMU walls with a structural assembly facilitating an open plan. Sustainability goals prioritize energy efficiency improvements to HVAC and lighting systems, envelope thermal performance and shading strategies, and consider water efficiency in plumbing and site design strategies.
